The fabric

Made from 100% solution-dyed acrylic, this fabric is ultra-resistant to colour change from UV light and chlorine. It is also mould-resistant, stain-resistant and easy to clean. But we're not dealing with a stiff, plastic canopy here. This luxury woven fabric has the feel of a soft mid-weight upholstery linen, bringing the premium feeling of curtains and lampshades out to your garden.

The blue fringe (flecked with white to be reminiscent of the sky on the most perfect summer's day) is made by the family-owned, French business Houles. Established in Paris nearly 100 years ago, they are one of our go-to for the highest quality outdoor trimmings. This brush fringe will stay fluffy and bright, even after many downpours or years of sunbathing.

With double strengthened corners plus a storm vent that allows breezes to pass through with panache, this parasol can withstand all weathers.

Care

Plia Parasols have been made with the highest quality materials, and can stay outside through all weathers. The canopies will shrug off rain, and maintain their vibrant colours for a prolonged time in the sun.

The parasol frame is designed to withstand both the dry heat of the summer and the wet of winter.

Soap and water should be plenty sufficient for occassional cleaning of the frame or canopy.

If ever you use a chemical cleaner on the frame, it would be advisable to re-finish with any outdoor, uncoloured water-based preserver or top coat. We recommend: Sikagard Wood Preserver.

To extend the life of your parasol and to reduce maintenance, cover with the supplied waterproof cover when not in use, or store in a garage or shed.

The canopy is easily removable for cleaning, storage or swapping design, should the mood take you.

The frame

Our wooden frames are traditionally made and designed for longevity.

A single length centre pole does away with dodgy connectors and weak spots.

Double pulleys and a clever cleat to grip the rope, makes raising your parasol as easy as pie.

Stainless steel arm brackets ensure strength in ridiculous winds, but please don’t put it to the test.

100% of our parasol parts can be replaced or repaired should something break.
